Hi, Liv, thank you for hosting me today. I’m sharing an excerpt from my spanking romance story, which is set during the English Civil war. Hester has surrounded her house to her enemy and following an attempt at espionage, has been locked in her room while Daniel contemplates what to do with her:

Dashing over, she reached the door just as the key clanked. He’d locked her in her own bedroom. Hester hammered on the door. “Please, Daniel, please. I’m sorry. Don’t lock me in here.”
His footsteps faded.
She sobbed into her pillow, wet tears of failure. He hated her. It was obvious now and there was no point in trying to mend their relationship.
What kind of relationship did she want with Daniel? She’d tried to be his enemy, but seemly had failed given how quickly she’d surrendered the copied letters. What hatred she’d fostered upon their first encounter had lost its potency within weeks of his company. Even after the whipping and subsequent spanking, she’d remained drawn to the striking captain and his aloof, somewhat mysterious temperament.
Wiping her nose with her sleeve, she shamefully recalled her actions the previous evening, after Daniel’s declaration about poetry. She’d gone to bed, slipped out of her day clothes, and bathed herself before the fire using a bowl of warm water. Thinking upon how his eyes had lit up when recalling his student days, she’d ran her hand over her sex and discovered a wetness not made by the soapy water. Sliding her finger along the slit, she’d trembled, noting how swollen her folds had become with so little encouragement.
Rocking on her knees, she’d crushed her palm against her mound and stifled a moan. Water had dripped between her fingers and the sight of droplets on the hearth rug had woken her out of her reverie. She’d hurriedly dried herself and thrown the water out of the window. She blamed Daniel for her reprehensible moment of lustful indulgence. Why did he have to be so handsome and soft in speech?
With a snort, she sat up on the bed. Her father would be appalled by the thoughts she harboured towards the young officer and the idea of disloyalty towards her kin reminded her of her duties. Barricaded in her room, she wished she could accept her fate, her failure to both befriend Daniel and instigate espionage, but she couldn’t. Now she had to escape, somehow.
Blurb:
When the rest of her household flees the family estate during the English Civil War, Hester Cavell, a proud Royalist supporter, stays behind hoping to protect her home. Unfortunately for Hester, she quickly finds that she is no match for a troop of Parliamentarian dragoons, led by Captain Daniel Hasard. Once the dragoons take control of her house, Daniel lets Hester stay with her servants, but he warns her that he will punish her severely if she causes any trouble.
Despite Daniel’s warning, it isn’t long before Hester risks her safety and attempts to sabotage his troops, earning her a long, hard switching on her bare bottom. But as the weeks pass, she begins to realize that the man behind the enemy uniform is loving, intelligent, and kind, and she can’t help but grow more and more attracted to him. Daniel returns Hester’s affection, and while they remain enemies by day to protect her reputation, they soon become passionate lovers by night.
Not wanting the servants to guess at their games, Hester continues to make a pretence at mischief, and Daniel continues to punish her sternly. But when a servant at last finds out the truth of their relationship, will it bring an end to their newfound romance, or will Daniel cast aside politics and allegiances and ask for her hand in marriage?
