I thought about what to write for a blog hop about curves and decided to share a humorous poem I wrote a while back about burlesque. Why burlesque? Because it’s fun, cheeky, sexy and performers come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. If anything proves that you don’t have to be skinny to be sexy, burlesque really does it.

Have a look at this performance from Vi Vacious and you’ll see what I mean :).

Here’s the first couple of verses of my poem and there’s a link to Wattpad to read the whole thing:

The spangles
The glitter
The way they cheer for me
The hurly burly
Of burlesquery
My heart is a-pitter
Before I step on the stage

When the music starts
Into the spotlight I march
Head held high
And not a quiver
Here we go
I’m going to make you shiver
